Choosing a vanity top
Remodeling or building a new bathroom comes with many options. One of the most prominent is selecting a top for your vanity and deciding on the splash type and height.
The type of stone installed can make a bathroom look more modern or rustic, depending on its color and pattern. (Taking a look at our Quartz vs Natural Stone page can provide more information on stone type.)
Vanity cabinet depth is typically 18″ to 22.” Vanity tops typically have an inch and a half overhang but aesthetically it is recommended for the countertop to extend as far as the drawers at least. As with kitchen countertops, there are different edge details to choose from (see Edge Detail page).
Back splash is typically 4″ but can be higher. Some customers choose to go with natural stone while others choose tiling. We do not work with tile. Check out our vanity and back splash ideas gallery.
We have a selection of precut vanities in our yard. Stone selection varies in type and size and is limited to stock on hand. All precut vanities have an eased edge type.
Other renovation ideas are stone shelving and niches. We also fabricate shower benches and bathtub surrounds.
